Bible Journaling
Tools for Creative Engagement with Scripture
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Your Bible is yours to love and enjoy! So let’s get out the pens, stickers, and glue!
Bible Journaling is a way of deepening our engagement with scripture. Combining elements of lectio divina and visio divina, collage, and journaling, this practice helps us to pray and play with scripture. This course will explore ways that you can create directly in the margins of your Bible or in what I call a side-car journal. We will consider sources of inspiration, practical considerations, and the gifts of creativity. Each session will include instruction and workshop time.
Sunday, July 5 - Making the First Mark
Sunday, July 12 - Practical Considerations
Sunday, July 19 - Resisting Perfectionism
Sunday, July 26 - Going Multi-Media

Some Essentials:
- A Bible, of course!
- Pens or pencils
- Micron Fine Point and Extra Fine Point Pens & Staedtler Triplus Fineliners are my favorites
- Normal ballpoint pens work too, just pick something that won’t bleed too much
- Tape and glue
- Glue sticks create less mess, but normal school glue is just fine
- Double stick tape, regular tape, and washi tape are all great
- Scrap papers, post-it notes, magazine clippings, stickers, etc.
