A 40-Day Meditation/Prayer Practice

COURSE DESCRIPTION

You've no doubt heard of the countless health benefits of meditation and prayer. Science is beginning to prove what spiritual practitioners have always known: that slowing down and centering ourselves on The Holy can increase our health and wellbeing from the inside out! However, many people feel they do not know how to start, or that meditation seems like something that they just can't do, but what we fail to realize is that we've been taught the wrong things about meditation, and that even seasoned practitioners need community and guidance to take their practice to the next level. This 40-day class will give you tools, community, and inspiration to begin or strengthen your spiritual practice.

Each week we'll use a different theme to draw you deeper into the contemplative space known as "The Cloud of Unknowing." We'll pull from mystic texts, bodily prayers, indigenous practice, music, and nature to explore this holy space. Both the novice and the seasoned practitioner will find something new on this path. The first two classes will be an introduction to meditation, and our first gathering will be a special yoga and meditation day, held as a hybrid event at St. Christopher's Church at 2:00 PM (EDT) (also broadcast on Zoom), which will introduce you to the different moving meditation techniques. Following that, we will meet on Zoom every day for a total of 40 days from 7:00 AM - 7:30 AM (EDT) to have a brief talk on a topic/technique in meditation and then sit together in prayer for 20 minutes. If you cannot make this time, no worries! A recording will be uploaded for you to the Hive Membership area so you can establish your practice at a time that feels right to you. We hope you will join us for this transformative 40-day journey as we enter the cloud together.

Praise:

"I had a wonderful time, and truly experienced entering The Cloud of Unknowing and fostering deeper intimacy with God over the forty days that we spent together."   - Namaste, Kat

"Over the years, I have had the opportunity to attend numerous Centering Prayer Programs, This 'Entering The Cloud', was by far the BEST, informative, grace filled program I have had. We received so many different angles to approach Centering Prayer and the freedom to explore. This diversity has given me the desire to continue Centering Prayer. Thank You!" - Suzanne Schoenhut
