Regenerative Spirituality
A Four-Week Lenten Series
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Based on the chronological timeline of Jesus’ death and resurrection as memorialized through the annual Triduum observances, this offering uses the theological and biblical basis of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Resurrection Sunday to articulate a spirituality of regeneration. This series is designed to provide a brave space for individuals to reconnect with the Holy One, share & listen to each other with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, and experience the Presence of the Divine in community.
Individuals are invited to contemplate the cyclical nature of life transitions as modeled through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ as celebrated in Christian community. This series is for all who are looking for support in responding to the work of the Holy in their lives, instead of just reacting to what feels stressful about change. It's also for those who are ready to take responsibility for their faith and lean into participating with G-d in their spiritual regeneration.

COURSE INSTRUCTOR
Carrie M. Allport, MTS, MA-SD & Kirstin Swanson, MPA, MDiv

Carrie Allport, MTS, MA-SD, is a beloved child of G-d, covenant partner, mother of 2, lifelong student, novice gardener, sometimes runner, and spiritual companion to those seeking to connect or deepen their relationship with the Holy One. Steeped in the Anglican tradition, but raised in the Bible Belt, she identifies as a part of a lost generation in the Church. She shares spiritual direction with individuals & groups, and has a tender spot for offering spiritual companionships with couples. Additionally, she is passionate about spiritual care for clergy households. As a member of a clergy household, she and her family are trying, just for today, to answer the call of the priesthood of all believers. Want more? https://smallspherespirituality.blogspot.com/
Kirstin Swanson, MPA, MDiv, is a priest, mother, and wife living and raising her now teenaged children in New York City. A lifelong New Yorker and Episcopalian, she serves as a Missioner for the Episcopal Diocese of New York, working with congregations on Staten Island as they navigate change, make their way through transitions, and experiment with new ways to be church together and reach new people in the community. Before becoming a priest, Kirstin was an active lay leader and a fundraiser for non-profit organizations in education, the arts, and social service. Her passion for local engagement and belief in the importance of artistic expression continues in her service on the board of Illuminart Productions, an organization that empowers students to use theater and artistic expression to illuminate critical social issues, creating conversations for positive change.Carrie Allport, MTS, MA-SD, is a beloved child of G-d, covenant partner, mother of 2, lifelong student, novice gardener, sometimes runner, and spiritual companion to those seeking to connect or deepen their relationship with the Holy One.
