One Body
Getting to know the Body of Christ
Pentecost, or the birthday of the church, was a whole-body experience. In this class, we examine the sacred texts that tell the story of the Holy Spirit coming to be with Christ’s church on Earth. We learn through these that the Holy Spirit came to all, regardless of their ethnicity and nationality. It also was a whole-body and embodied experience. Science shows us that our deepest experiences remain with us in our bodies. How can this help us shape our own prayer life? How does having an embodied experience connect us to each other and God? In what ways can an experience of pilgrimage tap into this, even if we aren't actually traveling? In this introduction, we set ourselves on a spiritual journey that we can literally take with us on the road, or we can do from our own homes.
